The Brig-Aletsch ski resort is located on the itinerary of the famous Glacier Express that connects Zermatt with St Moritz. 11 ski lifts will take you from the Brig ski resort to the Belalp ski area, a high plateau where the sun and snow make a fantastic combination. The main attraction of the resort is the Hohstock tunne, that takes skiers to the off-piste paradise. Close to Brig, there are many ski areas with trails for cross-country skiing. A very famous panoramic excursion is offered to holidaymakers on the southern face of the Lotschberg. Every January, the Derby of Belalp is held : the Descente des Sorcières which is 12km long and welcomes 1000 participants dressed as witches.
